Cast: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor

Director: Karan Johar

The romantic melodrama opens with Ayaan (Ranbir Kapoor) and Alizeh (Anushka Sharma), both of them from more than well-to-do families, meeting in London. The two party together, and bond over 80s and 90s songs. Tracing different phases of love in bits and pieces that are connected by our narrator Ayaan, through an interview.

Ayaan, a music aspirant is pushed into MBA while Alizeh is still finding her way through life.

Spending time with each other, Ayaan has his heart set for Alizeh, while Alizeh has her own  philosophy of love and friendship.

All is well between the two till Ali (Fawad Khan), Alizeh’s ex turns up and the two eventually decide to get married. A crestfallen Ayaan meets Sabha (Aishwarya Rai), a beautiful poetess, who propels him into becoming a singer.

What follows is a mix of emotion, and drama, and everything bollywood. The movie attempts to dwell deeper into the nuances of love and all the forms it can take.

Ranbir and Anushka are commendable on screen. The songs, the dialogues and the chemistry between the two grapples with your heart. This movie has best of all bollywood elements in it, though probably not fitting well in a single storyline. It is scattered in parts and broken in its storyline.
